Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Digital Litigation Solutions Manager to join our team at Intelliswift Software. This is a 6-month contract role, with a competitive hourly rate of CA$28.27.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the discovery process, including legal holds, collections, reviews, and production of records for litigation and regulatory investigations. They will ensure that all aspects are conducted in a defensible manner and in line with established processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously from initiation through to completion using state-of-the-art technology and techniques;
  • Work closely with litigators to determine the parameters of the discovery work to be performed, including identification of custodians, search terms, and other factors relevant to the matter;
  • Draft and issue legal hold notices and monitor custodian responses;
  • Conduct and document custodian data source interviews;
  • Instruct technicians on the set up of databases in e-Discovery review platforms and work with/trains legal counsel on the technology, including early case assessment tools;
  • Maintain supporting documentation/chain of custody logs;
  • Work with legal teams to analyze and respond to e-Discovery requests in line with the principle of proportionality;
  • Plan and implement review processes, including preparing workflows for internal or external review, drafting review instructions, managing 1st level reviews, 2nd level reviews by external counsel, and performing quality control checks of 1st level reviews;
  • Monitor and report on the status of case reviews;
  • Coordinate the lifting of legal holds and associated closing processes;
  • Provide technical guidance and support to lawyers and other professionals on matters related to eDiscovery;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with lawyers and LOB contacts to ensure that needs are understood and met;
Requirements
  • Ability to work on multiple cases in a time-pressured environment where priorities are constantly changing;
  • Some knowledge of the discovery process and e-Discovery tools and workflows;
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work and manage multiple tasks ensuring deadlines are met;
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and exercise judgment;
  • Ability to inspire and influence others toward achieving a desired result;
  • Ability to handle and protect confidential material;
  • Flexibility to work extra hours when required;
  • At least 1 year of experience in the legal industry;
  • Law clerk or paralegal designation;
  • Proficient and comfortable with new technology;
  • Understanding of laws/legislation relevant to the practice area, legal terminology, forms, and documents related to the litigation practice area;
  • Strong and effective written and oral communication skills;
  • Understanding of legal and technology terminology;
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, proof-reading, and editing skills;
  • Basic accounting and math skills;
  • e-Discovery experience an asset;
  • Experience with Relativity software nice to have;
  • Previous banking experience nice to have;
