Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Robotics Technician to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment/machinery efficiently, safely, and in accordance with plant standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and follow up on full project implementation, including timing, concept, feasibility, design, specifications, construction, and commissioning.
  • Analyze, record, and chart documentation required for maintenance records and projects.
  • Service, maintain, repair, install, and test new or existing equipment and verify conformance.
  • Complete repairs, modifications, and installations as required.
  • Troubleshoot process problems and complete quality improvements as required to maintain part standards of quality.
  • Evaluate the efficiency and reliability of industrial robotic systems, reprogramming or calibrating to achieve maximum quantity and quality.
  • Plant support in troubleshooting/repairs and systems improvements (optimization).
  • Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies of CB Canada.
  • Coordinate activities of apprentices, helpers, and assigned contractors.
  • Develop robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Disassemble and reassemble robots or peripheral equipment to make repairs such as replacement of defective circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, and servomotors.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance procedures as laid out by the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Able to work extended or flexible hours/shifts as required.
  • Has good interpersonal and communication skills and is results-oriented.
  • Has an exemplary attitude towards housekeeping, safety, and company policies.
  • Work within the guidelines of the CB Canada Employee Handbook.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety.
  • TS16949 awareness and adherence, and ISO14001 awareness and adherence.
  • Lean Manufacturing and 5S Concepts awareness and adherence.
  • Other duties as may be required.
  • Accepts personal responsibility to plan and conduct their work safely in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as company policies and guidelines.
  • Responsible for Good House Keeping in your area.
Requirements
  • Electromechanical certification.
  • Able to work in various locations within and outside the plant.
  • Proof of completion of an Electrical/Electronic course from a community or recognized college program consisting of two years or more.
  • 3 to 4 years' experience with robots and electronic control systems in a robotic welding or laser field.
