Position Overview

The Spa Wellness Practitioner role is designed to deliver outstanding massage and spa services with the utmost professionalism, personalized techniques, and exceptional hospitality to our guests. Your contributions will be integral to our mission, supporting the overarching goals and values of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering massage and spa treatments to guests promptly and courteously, including various wellness therapies and body treatments.
  • Achieving a designated retail sales to service ratio through the exceptional products and accessories offered.
  • Maintaining a minimum upsell percentage as agreed upon.
  • Participating in pre and post-shift meetings.
  • Managing backbar expenses effectively.
  • Completing all necessary documentation related to spa operations.
  • Engaging in all advanced training sessions without exception.
  • Guiding guests to and from treatment rooms with grace and attentiveness to their needs.
  • Providing information and coordinating guest requests for services while ensuring the spa remains impeccably clean.
  • Ensuring guest comfort and safety throughout their treatment experience.
  • Maintaining a pristine work area with necessary supplies and adhering to sanitation and disinfection protocols.
  • Executing monthly and quarterly deep-cleaning tasks.
  • Assisting in the cleanliness of all spa facilities, including locker rooms.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to foster a supportive team environment and contribute to the spa's success.
  • Assisting with any additional tasks as directed by the Spa Manager or other leadership.
  • Participating in promotional activities both within and outside the spa.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Valid Massage Therapy Certification from an accredited institution.
  • Required insurance coverage to maintain licensure.
  • Continuing education as mandated for licensure.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Massage Therapist in a spa or luxury hotel environment.
  • Expertise in Swedish and Deep Tissue massage, along with proficiency in at least two additional modalities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a luxury spa setting is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Additional Skills

  • Advanced training in holistic and clinical bodywork, aromatherapy, and spa treatments.
  • Experience in multiple massage modalities as outlined above.
  • Knowledge of wellness practices such as yoga and meditation.

Physical Requirements

This position requires mobility and the ability to stand for extended periods, with the capacity to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Candidates must be able to perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and stretching. Manual dexterity is necessary for operating equipment and performing various treatments.

The compensation for the Spa Wellness Practitioner position ranges from $13.00 to $13.20 per hour, exclusive of additional incentive pay.
