About the Opportunity

The Radiation Therapist plays a critical role in the delivery of cancer treatment, ensuring accurate and precise preparation of patients for radiation therapy. This involves fabricating accessories, such as casts, and operating conventional simulators and CT scanners with simulation software. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of treatment plans, dosimetry, and outputs, as well as excellent data entry skills for record and verify systems and online image acquisition systems.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist with a strong educational background in Radiation Therapy, preferably from an accredited program in Canada or a recognized non-Canadian program. A license and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals are also required. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with competencies in other languages an asset, particularly French.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate accessories, such as casts, for patient preparation
  • Operate conventional simulators and CT scanners with simulation software
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including dosimetry and outputs
  • Enter data into record and verify systems and online image acquisition systems
  • Deliver radiation therapy treatments, including external beam therapy and brachytherapy
