The Team

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Automation Specialist to collaborate with the Notification Services team in Scotia Digital. This role involves designing and developing automated testing scripts for both new and existing software applications.

Is this role right for you?

  • Employ standard test automation frameworks to design, construct, and maintain programs/scripts that execute automated tests on code generated by the team.
  • Participate in the manual testing process alongside automated testing efforts.
  • Evaluate and identify test scenarios suitable for automation.
  • Deliver requested automation scripts efficiently and accurately within an Agile framework, adhering to automation best practices.
  • Continuously enhance automated testing methodologies to empower QA subject matter experts to maximize test coverage across the entire enterprise product.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • 4+ years of experience in Test Automation utilizing Selenium with Java.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks based on BDD/TDD principles (using Cucumber, Maven, TestNG).
  • Hands-on experience in automating mobile and web-based applications, as well as API web services.
  • Proficient in using tools such as SOAP UI, Postman, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of version control systems like Git and Bitbucket.
  • Proficient in writing SQL and NoSQL queries.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Xray, and test management tools like HP ALM.
  • Solid understanding of QA processes and practical experience in preparing testing artifacts such as test plans, strategies, test cases, and status reports.
  • Well-versed in Agile principles with the adaptability to apply experience in evolving environments.
  • Previous experience in a major Canadian bank, particularly in web banking systems, is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
