Zehr Construction, a prominent division of Zehr Group, is seeking a **Senior Project Manager** to enhance our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will supervise Project Managers and engage collaboratively on various projects, focusing on planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and ensuring projects are completed in a timely manner. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that all projects adhere to budgetary constraints and defined scopes, while also guaranteeing that Project Managers meet all anticipated outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Overseeing significant construction and renovation initiatives to guarantee timely completion, adherence to budget, and compliance with established standards.
  • Leading all phases of the project lifecycle, from inception through to completion, including concept development, design, tendering, construction, and commissioning.
  • Creating and implementing a risk management strategy, monitoring risks, and developing appropriate responses to mitigate potential issues.
  • Assisting with the scheduling of necessary building inspections to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Establishing both preliminary and final project budgets.
  • Ensuring effective budget control and monitoring expenses throughout all project phases to achieve on-budget and on-time delivery. Collaborating with project teams on contract modifications and securing necessary approvals.
  • Coordinating procurement processes with service providers and client groups.
  • Assessing the implications of project delays, cost overruns, and deferrals, and advising client groups accordingly; recommending solutions to address project requirements.
  • Managing project site safety and collaborating with all third-party and internal resources.
  • Performing any additional reasonable tasks necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position in a professional manner.
  • Maintaining familiarity with contract documents and ensuring compliance as needed.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of drawing packages, specifications, and project details to identify potential issues and ensure constructability.
  • Documenting formal changes to contract documents with agreement from all stakeholders.
  • Evaluating information received from trades, consultants, and clients to ensure its viability.
  • Conducting weekly site visits to monitor progress, identify challenges, collaborate with project teams, and maintain a comprehensive understanding of site conditions.
  • Understanding trade subcontracts and ensuring accountability to the highest standards.
  • Participating in meetings with clients, trades, and consultants.
  • Scheduling bi-weekly update meetings with comprehensive reporting to the VP of Construction Operations.
  • Fostering effective relationships through strong communication practices.
  • Reviewing monthly progress billing to ensure accuracy and prevent overbilling; vetting monthly progress draws prior to submission to clients.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Exceptional client-facing and internal communication abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Experience with project management software tools, such as MS Project.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams.
  • Basic understanding of Procore construction software is beneficial.
  • A valid driver's license is required.


Compensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and performance. Monthly expenses for vehicle mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with applicable regulations. Other work-related expenses must receive prior approval. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, based on a 44-hour work week. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the Company's group insurance plans and other employee benefit programs during their employment.
