Job Summary

The Health Centre Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of campers and staff at YMCA Calgary. This position requires a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with experience working with children in a medical capacity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and deliver daily and as-needed medications to campers
  • Education and encourage healthy behaviors in campers and staff, including measures to reduce illness
  • Stock and maintain inventory of staff first aid kits
  • Assess illness and injuries and recommend further diagnostics or treatments to camper families
  • Be available to assist with on-site and backcountry emergency response
  • Supervise three staff members
Requirements
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months)
  • Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Evidence of proof of COVID-19 vaccine
  • Three professional references
Working Conditions

The Health Centre Coordinator will work in the outdoors for the majority of each day, requiring long periods of walking and standing, lifting program supplies, and participating in physical activities and games.
