Job Summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Revenue Performance and Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Revenue Service, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all revenue functions are undertaken with a strategic corporate outlook, reflecting industry best practices and complying with statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of complex data to identify problems and opportunities for improvement
  • Support quality assurance programs for customer service, collections, assessment, and billing sections
  • Maintain and evaluate quality assurance programs and performance metrics
  • Participate in decision-making and provide input on complex customer service, collection, assessment, and billing matters
  • Assist with communications and draft new policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Completion of a 4-year university degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in municipal finance, with direct experience in customer service or collections
  • Completion of the Municipal Tax Administration Program (MTAP) from OMTRA
Knowledge and Skills
  • Legislation related to assessment, billing, collections, water, and tax
  • Quality assurance practices and procedures
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and data storage
  • Method of conducting audits, investigative, and monitoring techniques
  • Business process review and re-engineering concepts and methodologies
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities
  • Independent and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Language Requirement: Designated Day 1 Ready - immediate requirement for language proficiency in French and English
  • Police Record Check: The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Records and Judicial Matters Check
