What we are looking for:

As our Rail/Transit division expands, we are in search of a Rail & Transit Project Manager for any of our office locations. This position is vital for the growth and development of GHD's Transit/Rail division.

In collaboration with a vibrant and high-achieving team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing rail/transit initiatives such as light rail (LRT), bus rapid transit (BRT), commuter rail, or other project types
  • Ensuring that GHD's projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality benchmarks; providing comprehensive supervision and leadership throughout the design-build full cycle phase
  • Being proactive and responsive to client inquiries, aiming to surpass expectations in client service
  • Tracking project timelines, coordinating with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, railway owners, operators, and clients, and assisting with contract management as necessary
  • Preparing monthly progress reports for ongoing projects to discuss with the Project Director and proposing corrective action plans if performance does not align with Key Performance Metrics
  • Supporting new project proposals with the bidding team, formulating budget estimates and schedules to secure new initiatives

Your qualifications:

  • Experience in Project Management with LRT or BRT projects in Canada
  • Familiarity with alternative project delivery methods (P3, DB), and experience in collaborative arrangements with contractors and consultants
  • A minimum of 8 years of project management experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Capability to oversee project budgets and delivery timelines in a fast-paced project environment
  • Proficiency in utilizing software for budget management and schedule updates, along with expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering License in Ontario or in progress; a PMP designation would be beneficial
