About the Role

The Canadian CED Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization in achieving its mission to strengthen local economies across Canada. As the new Executive Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our strategic plan, including setting short- and long-term objectives and priorities to ensure the organization's continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a revenue strategy to ensure short- and long-term financial sustainability
  • Work closely with the leadership team and Board to reframe the organization's work and priorities
  • Oversee the development of work plans, campaigns, and strategies to achieve CCEDNet policy objectives
  • Build and nurture relationships with partners and the community, including government agencies, donors, members, and other economic development groups/entities
  • Design and implement strategies to advance equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility
  • Manage approved budgets and provide regular reports on financial performance to the Board of Directors
  • Ensure compliance with bylaws, policies, and all other statutory and regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Proven experience in community economic development and non-profit leadership
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to hold work-related conversations in French and/or a willingness to learn conversational French
  • Experience working with communities and advocating for sustainable and equitable local economies
  • Ability to work in the evenings and weekends when required
What We Offer
