Job Summary

WestJet is seeking a dedicated Investigations Advisor to join the Internal Investigations team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in resolving Workplace Harassment and Violence complaints, conducting thorough and fair investigations, and providing recommendations to support the resolution of complex and sensitive issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the resolution of Workplace Harassment and Violence complaints, conducting thorough and timely investigations to ensure fair and equitable outcomes.
  • Conduct interviews, gather and analyze evidence, assess credibility, and document findings to support the resolution of complaints.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent Workplace Harassment and Violence, and provide recommendations to support the resolution of complex and sensitive issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Legal, Corporate Security, People Relations, Labour Relations, and Business Leaders, to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues.
  • Represent WestJet in legal settings, such as arbitration hearings and Canadian Human Rights Commission proceedings, to support the resolution of complaints.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes to legislation and regulation, and maintain knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines related to Human Rights and Workplace Harassment and Violence.
Requirements
  • Specialized training and experience in conducting high-risk investigations (3-5 years minimum).
  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources, or related field.
  • Specialized training or experience in dispute resolution and/or mediation considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources legislation, including The Canada Labour Code, Canadian Human Rights Act, and Bill C-65.
  • Experience working within a unionized environment considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with all levels within the organization.
  • Good judgment, tact, discretion, and exceptional listening skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
