Real Estate Legal Counsel, Ontario

We are seeking experienced Real Estate Legal Counsel to collaborate with municipalities on issues related to commercial property management and financing of real estate projects. Ideal candidates will possess a robust background in commercial property law and have the capability to manage transactions independently from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing direct legal advice to corporate clients on commercial property matters, including the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate, business acquisitions involving real estate, development projects, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Drafting and negotiating leases, modifications, assignments, and renewals.
- Supporting portfolio management and conducting due diligence reviews, including environmental assessments.
Required Qualifications:
- Residing in Ontario with an active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Comprehensive understanding of Ontario's real estate legislation.
- Over 8 years of experience in the purchase, sale, financing, development, and management of commercial leasing, representing significant developers, retailers, financial institutions, lenders, or pension funds.
- Previous experience in advising on the financing of real estate projects.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively on complex assignments.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the capacity to effectively counsel clients and engage with project stakeholders.
