Job Title: Health and Safety Coordinator

At BGIS, we are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our account team, you will play a critical role in maintaining compliance, mitigating and managing health and safety related risks, and improving related performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate health and safety program processes and activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance to account team members on health and safety matters and escalate inquiries as necessary.
  • Coordinate the implementation of health and safety programs, including related processes, procedures, and resources.
  • Conduct health and safety activities, including committee meetings, incident investigation and resolution, training, return-to-work, and compliance audits.
  • Research health and safety matters, provide findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain and assist with the creation of health and safety documentations, including plans, processes, and procedures.
  • Participate in field inspections, job observations, health and safety audits, and other types of reviews to monitor compliance and identify risks.
Requirements:
  • College degree completed.
  • Certification in one or more of the following: Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or Certificate in Environmental Management through a Community College.
  • 1 to 3 years of health and safety work experience.
  • Understanding of health and safety/ environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple requirements simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Strong administrative skills, with the ability to maintain and report accurate data.
