We are a leading video game development studio, passionate about creating immersive gaming experiences for fans worldwide.

As a Technical Designer at Next Level Games, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our games.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a robust level creation pipeline, ensuring seamless collaboration between tech and design teams.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and design teams, providing expert support and guidance whenever needed.
  • Interface with design and engineering teams to propose and implement innovative solutions for level-specific features.
  • Design and promote shared technical solutions to meet gameplay and level needs, while maintaining performance budget constraints.
  • Liaise with supporting departments as the technical expert, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Test new features and tools, providing valuable feedback for potential improvements.
  • Think critically about long-term implications of tools and feature changes, ensuring a sustainable and efficient workflow.
  • Establish best practices and workflows for designers, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Proficiency in Maya, with a strong understanding of Python/PyMel and knowledge of C/C++, C#/.NET.
  • Ability to support content creators and work collaboratively with designers and engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Organized and self-motivated, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Houdini and Substance Painter/Designer.
  • Environment Art and Prop creation experience.
  • Unreal/Unity experience.

The hiring range for this position is $72,000 - $100,000 CAD annual, subject to change. The final base salary compensation will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience. This position is also eligible for benefits, including a discretionary performance bonus program, health benefits, and generous time-off.
