Job Title: Cardiovascular Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Specialist to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases in children and adolescents. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases in children and adolescents
  • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods
  • Prescribe medication and treatment
  • Refer patients for surgery
  • Treat diseases and physiological disorders
  • Prepare research papers for publication and presentation
  • Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases
  • Supervise laboratory activities
  • Act as consultants to other physicians
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
  • Completion of a pediatric cardiology fellowship program
  • Current licensure to practice medicine in the province of Ontario
  • Eligibility for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
