Position Overview

Mercer Celgar is in search of a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our Engineering team as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and update the criticality of equipment through our established protocols.
  • Conduct audits and develop maintenance strategies to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
  • Plan, oversee, and execute inspections and major maintenance projects for assets.
  • Manage and execute maintenance for business CAPEX projects.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for equipment, supporting production, maintenance, and project teams.
  • Investigate equipment malfunctions and propose effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term and annual business strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a Canadian Engineering Association.
  • Several years of experience in maintenance, with a strong understanding of best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate activities across various departments.
  • Knowledge of NBIC, API, and ASME codes and standards.
