Position: Certified Nursing Aide - Full-Time

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to established performance standards for CNAs and executes responsibilities in accordance with nursing service protocols.
  • Complies with both verbal and written instructions.
  • Guides new colleagues in understanding and adhering to facility protocols.
  • Recognizes and reports resident/patient issues and concerns promptly to the registered nurse.
  • Completes tasks efficiently, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Conducts rounds on residents/patients as assigned.
  • Identifies safety risks and takes immediate corrective measures, reporting to the RN.
  • Participates in all required training sessions and external courses, completing tasks with a positive attitude.
  • Documents incidents and unusual occurrences in line with facility policies.
  • Engages in interdisciplinary team meetings and other facility gatherings as required.
  • Adheres to facility guidelines for admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Ensures documentation is thorough, timely, and accurate.
  • Actively listens to family concerns of residents/patients and communicates issues to the registered nurse.
  • Ensures residents/patients have access to call lights, hydration, and other essential items within reach.
  • Serves as a role model and resource for the orientation of new staff.
  • Actively participates in performance improvement initiatives.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate must be capable of:

  1. Identifying object characteristics through touch.
  2. Hearing effectively in normal conversational settings.
  3. Seeing adequately for general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision.
  4. Frequently bending and stooping.
  5. Communicating clearly and effectively.
  6. Manipulating and using hands skillfully while assisting residents/patients.
  7. Handling stressful situations effectively.
  8. Lifting and moving residents/patients using appropriate body mechanics.
  9. Enduring high-stress scenarios.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma or GED is required. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant training program is necessary. Basic computer skills and CPR certification are preferred.
