Job Title: Operating Shift Engineer

Agilus is seeking a skilled Operating Shift Engineer to join our team in Hamilton, Ontario. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment at our commercial office tower/retail complex.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day operations and maintenance on rotating 12 hour shifts, ensuring a high level of facilities management services to our tenants.
  • Monitor and maintain mechanical equipment, including heat pumps, boilers, air handlers, and pumps, to ensure effective operation of the property.
  • Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with all regulations, communicating work status with clients via mobile application.
  • Comply with company standards, procedures, and policies, as well as governmental regulations, including participation in the occupational health and safety program.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and maintain accurate records regarding system operation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and unscheduled maintenance and repairs of all building systems.
  • Provide operational and technical support, either personally or through contracted services oversight, and oversee 3rd party contractors for safe and compliant operation, maintenance, and computerized control systems.
Requirements:
  • Stationary Engineers 3rd or 4th Class Certificate
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment and its operation, with experience in the operation and maintenance of boilers and related equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of HVAC equipment, valves, dampers, and other components, as well as automation interlocks that may be triggered by overrides.
  • Ability to perform essential duties, including working at heights and ladder work.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in general maintenance in a commercial environment.
  • Possesses strong technical/operational capabilities with past experience in monitoring building systems and equipment.
