Job Summary

Dynacare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Laboratory Operations Manager to lead the Histology Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing laboratory operations, people leadership, and fostering a culture of safety, quality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage laboratory operations, including workflow, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Lead and engage a diverse team of laboratory professionals, promoting a culture of high performance and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Pathology Operations and Scientific Directors to develop and implement departmental procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Develop and recommend continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including collection, preparation, and analysis of departmental reports and statistics.
  • Monitor quality control programs and processes, review and interpret QC results, and act to correct any potential issues.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customer needs are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and implement business plans, goals, and schedules for the department.
  • Review scientific issues and challenges with the Director, Pathology Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in a healthcare-related field.
  • Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist (CMLT) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Proven track record of leading and engaging diverse teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in planning, preparing, and devising work schedules.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards and customer satisfaction principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in applying project management principles and techniques.
