Emergency Department Registered Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team at the Northeast Community Health Centre (NECHC). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a dynamic and supportive work environment.

About the Role:
  • Deliver a wide range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Utilize critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to provide safe and effective patient care.
  • Teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families, promoting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing care standards.
  • Manage and adapt to challenging situations, utilizing strong communication skills and physical stamina to tolerate extended periods of time standing or sitting, and patient and material handling.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to impact the department's efficient process in patient flow, while supporting optimal outcomes for the patient population.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Additional required qualifications and preferred qualifications listed below.
Additional Required Qualifications:
  • Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Current certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
  • Current certification in Emergency Nurses Paediatric Course (ENCP).
  • Current certification in Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Advanced Critical Care Nursing (ACCN) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of the CRNA Medication Management - Chapters and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.
Work Schedule:

Shift hours for this position are 07:30 – 19:45 and 19:30 – 07:45.
