Position Overview

The Cloud Operations Team at Fuel Industries is a comprehensive unit responsible for managing our clients' web services infrastructure. This includes initial setup, automated deployment, release management, client support, and continuous monitoring around the clock. As a Cloud Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in overseeing client deployments with diligence and precision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 24/7 support and maintenance for our cloud infrastructure.
  • Prioritize operational tasks in collaboration with production teams.
  • Communicate effectively with development teams to address issues and suggest enhancements.
  • Continuously monitor systems to ensure optimal stability and reliability.
  • Implement incremental automation to improve standard operating procedures.
  • Uphold our policies and procedures regarding incident response and monitoring.
  • Coordinate the technical resolution of significant incidents.
  • Manage task assignments to ensure timely delivery of commitments.
Required Skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Proficient in English, with strong written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to comprehend business contexts and requirements.
  • Quick to adapt and provide immediate value.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of learning swiftly and adjusting to evolving priorities.
  • Effective in driving short-term actions aligned with long-term objectives.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a system administrator (Windows Server and Linux) in an internet-focused production setting.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell and bash.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, RackSpace, etc.).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VirtualBox, HyperV, VMWare).
  • Knowledge of system and network monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Microsoft SCM).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and Internet protocols (TCP/IP, ssh, HTTP/HTTPS, UDP, switches, routers, iptables, firewalls, load balancers).
  • Experience in building and configuring physical servers is advantageous.
