About Us

BCW is committed to enhancing the health of women, newborns, and families through a comprehensive array of services, research, and education. BCW operates under the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), which plans, manages, and evaluates specialized health services in collaboration with BC health authorities to provide equitable and cost-effective healthcare across the province. Our values reflect our commitment to excellence: Respect people – Be compassionate – Dare to innovate – Cultivate partnerships – Serve with purpose.

PHSA is dedicated to equity in hiring and employment practices. We are actively addressing existing inequities and barriers within our systems to create a diverse workforce and establish an inclusive and culturally safe environment. We encourage applications and inquiries from all individuals, particularly those from historically marginalized groups.

One of PHSA's primary goals is to eliminate Indigenous-specific racism, which involves dismantling barriers to healthcare employment at all levels. We welcome Indigenous individuals to apply and engage with our Indigenous Recruitment & Employee Experience team for support.

Our initiatives addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism are rooted in recognizing the unique forms of discrimination and injustices faced by Indigenous peoples, aligning with an Indigenous rights-based approach that acknowledges the inherent rights and self-determination of Indigenous communities.
