Position Overview

The Immigration Consultant plays a pivotal role in the Immigration Services team, providing essential support for processing immigration files and delivering services to qualified international candidates recruited for challenging roles across various departments. This position is integral in assisting international employees who wish to continue their careers with Nova Scotia Health.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Manager of Immigration Services, the Immigration Consultant will:

  • Manage immigration support files efficiently.
  • Offer comprehensive immigration services to international recruits.
  • Facilitate employer compliance with immigration regulations.
  • Develop and refine policies and procedures to enhance international recruitment and immigration services.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the organization to ensure effective onboarding of newly hired international staff.
  • Provide ongoing support to retain valuable international employees.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A post-secondary degree or certification in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Active membership as a Registered Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of immigration pathways to Canada.
  • Experience in policy development.
  • Strong communication skills, preferably in multiple languages including English.
  • Understanding of provincial and federal Labour and Employment Standards and the Canadian Human Rights Act.
  • Analytical skills to interpret statistical data and monitor performance indicators related to workforce immigration initiatives.
Work Schedule

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 75 hours of work bi-weekly.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $47.01. Successful candidates may also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, in addition to a defined benefit pension plan.
