Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our laboratory operations, ensuring the accuracy and quality of our analytical results, and contributing to the success of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, reagent preparation, and calibration of instruments.
  • Provide general laboratory support, including cleaning and maintenance of equipment, and waste disposal.
  • Operate and maintain intermediate instruments, including calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Compile and verify accurate data records, ensuring compliance with quality assurance and turn-around specifications.
  • Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Report results and provide support to laboratory staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma or Science Degree is an asset.
  • Previous laboratory work experience is required.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with MS Office and LIMS.
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Mature work ethic, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds from time to time.
