About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machining Specialist to join our team at Alaska Machine & Manufacturing Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and setting up machines to perform repetitive machining operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and set up machines to perform machining operations, ensuring high-quality results and meeting production deadlines.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Prepare etching solutions and immerse metal parts or workpieces into the solution to remove unwanted portions.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Enter codes specifying speed, feed, and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.
  • Clean and maintain the work space to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
  • Offer awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
