Senior Cloud Solution Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Solution Architect to play a key role in shaping the future of cloud services at the University of Saskatchewan. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to empower students, staff, and faculty to achieve more with technology.

About the Role
  • Design, implement, and manage cloud services for various stakeholders with complex needs, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.
  • Develop architectural and governance patterns to harmonize common needs and specialized approaches for specific programs, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with research, network, infrastructure, security, and integration teams to achieve intended outcomes, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and translate business and technical requirements into a long-term architectural blueprint for cloud solutions and integrations, ensuring alignment with university goals and objectives.
  • Work with stakeholders, ICT leadership, and operations teams to identify areas of opportunity for improvement and solution development, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Manage issue, risk, and reporting for the portfolio, as well as communications and change management, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and transparency.
  • Provision services and develop orchestration for pilot and production implementations, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Participate in financial controls, vendor management, security, and compliance related to cloud services, ensuring adherence to university policies and procedures.
  • Drive implementations towards technology standards, industry trends, and best practices in support of university goals, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Requirements
  • Progression through increasingly responsible positions involving cloud services, solution architecture, research, cybersecurity, and/or information technology, demonstrating a strong track record of achievement and growth.
  • Experience with cloud services, solution architecture, research, cybersecurity, and/or information technology, with a strong understanding of cloud computing principles and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and sound judgment, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities in team and client settings, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships.
