Job Title: Tile Setter

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at IMPERIAL CONSTRUCTION AND RESTORATION INC.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered, mixing and applying adhesives, and setting tiles in place. They will also be required to align and straighten tiles, prepare tenders and quotations, and instruct apprentices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including measuring and marking
  • Mix and apply adhesives, such as mortar, cement, and mastic
  • Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base
  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure proper fit and appearance
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for tile installation projects
  • Instruct apprentices in tile setting techniques and best practices
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
  • Supervise other workers on tile installation projects
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in tile setting or a related field
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and working at heights
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and attention to detail
  • Hand-eye coordination and ability to work with precision
