Key Responsibilities

As an Actuarial Analyst within our Financial Engineering & Modelling team, your daily activities will include:

  • Performing independent assessments of insurance models (including pricing, valuation, asset management, LICAT & IFRS 17) in accordance with established Model Risk Policies and guidelines.
  • Identifying potential risks inherent in model design and application, providing constructive feedback and recommendations to mitigate these risks.
  • Communicating validation outcomes to senior management and model stakeholders, preparing comprehensive Model Validation reports that outline scope, methodology, results, findings, and conclusions.

This role emphasizes insurance model validation, offering a dynamic opportunity to collaborate across various sectors and expand your expertise.

Team Dynamics

The Financial Engineering & Modelling team within Financial Advisory consists of distinguished experts in Quantitative Finance, specializing in risk and insurance modeling, valuations, and compliance with Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS).

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as actuarial science, statistics, or mathematical finance.
  • Strong technical proficiency in tools such as Axis, Excel, and VBA; programming knowledge is advantageous.
  • The ability to thrive under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to convey complex actuarial and financial modeling concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to project ownership.
  • Prior experience in modeling or validation is preferred.
