Security Guard

Position Overview:

Guardteck Security is seeking skilled Part-Time/Casual security personnel with the potential for Full-Time employment.

Compensation:

Guard: $20.00 to $22.00/hr

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to and uphold property standards, rules, and regulations in a fair manner
  • Exhibit tact and diplomacy while on duty
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED assistance until professional medical help arrives
  • Maintain and enforce access control protocols
  • Possess a solid understanding of emergency and standard operating procedures
  • Address trespassers and unauthorized individuals on the premises in a safe and just manner
  • Keep a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports for all occurrences
  • Conduct regular patrols of the property on foot
  • Investigate incidents and occurrences thoroughly
  • Draft comprehensive incident and occurrence reports
  • Safeguard the peace, safety, and security of all patrons and clients on the premises
  • Monitor CCTV surveillance systems effectively
  • De-escalate emergency or crisis situations
  • Assist emergency and law enforcement personnel as needed
  • Manage access control, line management, and customer service
  • Support daily operations as required or directed
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Willingness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol by foot and vehicle for extended periods (8-12 hours)
  • Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior security experience
  • Experience in Loss Prevention or Retail Security is advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in the English language, both written and verbal
  • Proactive approach to all onsite situations
  • Able to retain relevant information provided by management and designated staff
  • Open to constructive feedback when appropriate
  • Comfortable attending high-stress emergency situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment both indoors and outdoors as required
  • Capable of handling stress and pressure while making sound decisions under duress
  • Comfortable working in a busy, densely populated area
  • High attention to detail and observational awareness
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • First Aid Level 1 certification is mandatory
