About the Position

This role provides critical support to our veterinarians in delivering high-quality patient care and treatment. As a Registered Veterinary Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting with anesthesia and surgery, maintaining hospital equipment, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with anesthesia and surgery procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Maintain hospital equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, including educating them on patient care and treatment, and updating them on their pet's status.
  • Perform a range of tasks, including triage, medication administration, and laboratory work, under the supervision of the veterinarian.
  • Assist with humane euthanasia and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a veterinary technologist program accredited by the Canadian Veterinary Medicine Association (CVMA) and registration with the BC Veterinary Technologists Association (BCVTA).
  • Experience in delivering high-quality customer service to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and complete tasks/projects within defined timelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to fulfill the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods, walking, sitting, and lifting heavy objects and patients.
  • Understanding of the risks associated with working with animals and an ability to follow safety requirements and other precautions.
