What we are looking for:
The Investment Counsellor role focuses on delivering exceptional client experiences and growing the business by attracting new clients. Strong client relationships involve understanding each client's unique needs, collaborating internally to develop/recommend investment strategies tailored to achieve client goals with Fiera's customized multi-asset solutions across traditional and alternative asset classes. This role reports to the Senior Investment Counsellor, Private Wealth, Canada.
Your responsibilities:
- Build and nurture strong client relationships, prioritizing client engagement and satisfaction by focusing on their needs and providing exceptional client service.
- Communicate effectively: Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong listening skills, and present ideas clearly to engage the audience.
- Generate and foster innovative ideas, developing solutions that create value for clients, identifying trends shaping client needs, and capitalizing on those trends.
- Establish a strong presence in the market with excellent networking skills.
- Be a highly results-focused self-starter, concentrating efforts on reaching or surpassing expectations and adopting strategies contributing to improved results.
- Develop a business plan highlighting ambitious objectives for growth, business leads, Centres of Influence in the business community, and key results, activities to support achieving targeted objectives.
- Adapt to unforeseen situations and changes by modifying behavior according to the new requirements of the internal and external environment.
- Demonstrate strong financial acumen, market awareness, and expertise in the investment industry and financial markets.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and thought leadership in the market, sought after for insights.
- Embody a curious, ongoing development, and thorough professional development mindset.
- Effectively communicate Fiera's service offering and strategies in alignment with client needs, collaborating with internal partners (COI, Investments teams) to bring the right information to our clients.
- Operate with high integrity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a rigorous approach consistent with Fiera Private Wealth practices, paying attention to details when carrying out work.
- Act as a leader, promoting a strong culture and mentoring throughout the Private Wealth business and organization. Strongly promote Fiera's values and Private Wealth's vision and strategy.
- Align with strategic objectives, participate, and lead projects, rolling up sleeves to contribute to the success of the organization.
- Collaborate as a team member and leader, actively participating in the work of Fiera Private Wealth, fostering common objectives.
Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
- Post-secondary education.
- Professional designation: Chartered Financial Analyst, and/or Chartered Investment Manager.
- 10 years + Investment Counsellor experience, strong marketplace prominence, and strong performance are more critical than years of experience.
- Licensed as or eligible to become licensed as a Registered Representative with respective provincial body.
