About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Career Development Specialist to join our team at SEMO de Granby et région. As a Career Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping clients achieve their career goals and improve their employability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with clients to understand their employment history, educational background, and career aspirations.
  • Assess clients' problems and develop personalized plans to overcome barriers to employment.
  • Administer and interpret tests to determine clients' interests, aptitudes, and abilities.
  • Provide clients with information and strategies to enhance their job readiness skills, job search strategies, and résumé writing.
  • Collect labour market information to help clients make informed decisions about their career paths.
  • Offer guidance to established workers on dealing with job dissatisfaction, making mid-career changes, and adjusting to workplace transitions.
  • Conduct vocational testing and psychometric assessments to identify clients' strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals to support clients' needs.
  • Liaise with community agencies and partners to expand services and support for clients.
Requirements
  • Professional accreditation in a related field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook and MS Word.
