Job Summary

The Regional Municipality of York is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Trip Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers by coordinating and booking trips, resolving issues, and ensuring seamless customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, record, and book customer trip requests, including advance bookings, standby service requests, and other service requests.
  • Enter trip request information into our system and ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Communicate with customers regarding potential booking discrepancies and schedule changes.
  • Notify dispatch of same-day booking requests, changes, or late vehicles.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  • Document customer information and respond to customer inquiries after hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and achieve departmental objectives.

Requirements

  • Secondary School Diploma or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with persons of disabilities.
  • Knowledge of specialized transit scheduling software.
  • Demonstrated ability in the Region's leadership and core competencies.
  • Knowledge of on-demand transit operating policies and procedures.
  • Basic skills in virtual platforms and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to interact with customers and the public.
  • Ability to work independently on rotating shifts, including weekends.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations, as required.
