Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at The Hungry Traveler Cafe. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as requisitioning food and kitchen supplies.
Key Responsibilities:- Co-ordinate special events and determine the size of food portions and costs
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
- Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Clean kitchen and work areas and organize buffets and banquets
- Manage kitchen operations and supervise kitchen staff and helpers
- Cook Trade Certification
- Safe Food Handling certificate
- Food Safety Certificate
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads
- Excellent oral communication and teamwork skills
