Aquafitness Instructor

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is seeking a qualified Aquafitness Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our aquatic programs team, you will be responsible for delivering safe and enjoyable aquafitness classes to participants of all ages and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities- Teach aquafitness programming to participants in a safe and enjoyable manner, following guidelines from certifying agencies and corporate policies.
- Develop and implement engaging and challenging class plans that cater to diverse fitness levels and abilities.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive experience for participants.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote aquatic programs and services within the community.
- Completion of Grade 11 and current certifications from a recognized certifying organization (e.g. CALA, YM-YWCA, WaterART).
- Minimum of 6 months of experience or equivalent apprenticeship in aquafitness instruction or a related field.
- Aquafitness Instructor certificate and current Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- Knowledge of corporate and departmental policies, guidelines, and directives.
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
