About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting our business finance activities, including actual, forecast, and plan expense reporting and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide timely and accurate expense reporting for business unit and functional leaders, and other key stakeholders.
  2. Support the month-end close processes, maintaining data quality and constructing and maintaining accurate and timely reporting that satisfies our customers' needs.
  3. Demonstrate a strong technical understanding of accounting for expenses, including company policies and sufficient business knowledge to verify and analyze information under review.
  4. Develop robust expense forecasts to support management decision-making.
  5. Participate in the annual budget process, working with business partners to develop budgets for specific areas of responsibility.
  6. Support internal and external audit requests.
  7. Use appropriate judgment in dealing with unexpected issues and requests, demonstrating an ability to prioritize work and balance resource requirements to achieve solutions.
What We're Looking For
  1. Accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) is an asset with 5+ years of relevant experience in progressive accounting roles.
  2. University degree in business, finance, or equivalent.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, negotiate, and influence effectively.
  4. Self-starter with the ability to work independently, particularly in using sound, independent judgment, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  5. Results-oriented, able to manage expectations, work under tight deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
  6. Excellent customer focus and commitment to quality.
  7. Strong business acumen with the ability to communicate complex concepts and results in a clear, concise, easy-to-understand manner (written and verbal).
  8. Solid analytical and technical capability - ability to assimilate/summarize a large amount of information from multiple sources and present in a valuable form for senior management.
  9. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications quickly.
  10. Essbase and Lawson knowledge (or other complex GL package) would be an asset.
