Core Facility Supervisor

About the RoleThe Supervisor-Core Facility role is a key position in our Development team, responsible for coordinating and supervising all processes and procedures at the Core Facility. This is a residential position based in Red Lake, Ontario, with a 5 days on / 2 days off / 4 days on / 3 days off roster.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure proper processes are followed, including orienting core, geotechnical logging, core photography, and sample preparation.
- Review daily checklists and hazard reporting forms, conduct job task observations, and participate in safety meetings.
- Communicate with Discovery and Grade Control Geology Senior teams to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly priorities are met.
- Coach and mentor lead hand positions to safely and efficiently meet goals.
- Govern assay preparation protocol and security, following industry best practices and ensuring NI43-101 compliance.
- Work with Geology Senior personnel to update core shack procedures and follow CIM best practices.
- Mentor core cutters and technicians in proper methods to maximize production without sacrificing safety.
- Liaise with other RLO departments on potential safety or environmental hazards.
- Track and perform routine and project-specific core shack metrics.
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and safety shares, and represent the core shack group during departmental meetings.
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with expertise in orienting core, core cutting process, and core sampling procedures. You should be able to understand and interpret technical language, and have a strong understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants.
Qualifications and Certificates- Geotechnical or Geology diploma/degree preferred
- Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- Relevant Supervisor WSN training
