Overview

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Agent (ASL 4) to contribute significantly to our financial operations. This position is ideal for individuals who have a strong interest in finance, excel at problem-solving, and thrive in a vibrant work environment.

Position Type: Term

Compensation: Competitive bi-weekly salary

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Finance Division and reporting to the Lead, Accounts Receivable, the Accounts Receivable Agent will oversee transactions related to student and staff accounts, invoicing, billing, and account reconciliations while ensuring adherence to NBCC's policies and procedures.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Verifying and auditing debts, credits, and journal entry coding for precision.
  • Providing guidance and support to clients regarding the cash management process.
  • Generating invoices for various services including sponsored students, bookstore transactions, room rentals, and copy center services.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues related to sponsored student accounts and ensuring proper reconciliation of sub-accounts.
  • Reconciling student accounts and processing refunds while preparing requisitions for payments.
  • Preparing journal entries and supporting documentation for uploads to the financial system.
  • Testing and evaluating outcomes, analyzing data, and consulting with relevant parties to provide recommendations for system improvements.
  • Analyzing and authenticating unreconciled payments and processing validated transactions.
  • Generating reports for payment and refund reconciliation.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance systems and processes to reduce costs, mitigate risks, and improve efficiency.
  • Assisting with special projects as necessary.
  • Supporting dispute resolution on student accounts, including missing payments and account merges.
  • Acting as a liaison for student services.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance with relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software; experience with Oracle Fusion is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume transactions and complex reconciliations.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in a post-secondary environment.
