The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is seeking a highly qualified Industrial Technology Advisor (ITA) to support the delivery of the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and support to SMEs seeking to develop and commercialize innovative technologies.
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of business needs and identify opportunities for growth and development.
  • Develop tailored strategies and action plans to help businesses overcome technical challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Connect businesses with relevant resources, networks, and funding opportunities.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A post-secondary degree in science or engineering from a recognized university. Alternatively, a combination of a post-secondary degree in another area with extensive relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Extensive and recent experience in industrial business as an entrepreneur or senior executive in one or more technological areas.
  • Experience in private sector development and marketing of innovative products or services.
  • International business development experience or intellectual property management is an asset.
  • Recent experience in industrial business as an entrepreneur or senior executive in an SME is an asset.
