Overview

The SILVER HOTEL GROUP is actively seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee our property operations.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Chief Engineer will be tasked with:

  • Ensuring that the facility and its offerings consistently surpass guest expectations.
  • Diagnosing and addressing general maintenance concerns throughout the property.
  • Attending to guest inquiries with professionalism, efficiency, and safety.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance and essential repairs across hotel guest rooms and equipment, including kitchen, boiler, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Performing drywall repairs, painting, and other fundamental carpentry tasks as necessary.
  • Regularly inspecting both internal and external areas of the property to confirm operational integrity and reporting any findings to the General Manager, along with recommendations and estimated costs.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in work areas, all tools, and logbooks.
  • Responding promptly to emergency situations, including fire alarms and power outages.
  • Undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of technical experience or equivalent in a recognized trade, with a solid understanding of building maintenance and operations. Experience in a dynamic hotel setting is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with proficiency in computer usage.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong prioritization and multitasking abilities.
  • Willingness to respond to emergency maintenance calls outside of regular hours.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and operations, such as chillers, boilers, water softeners, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, creative thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of pool maintenance (if applicable).
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
