Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Planner to join our team at S&C Electric Canada Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating production, and planning operations to ensure maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule customer demand with capacity and part supply in mind.
  • Create daily/weekly/monthly production schedules to meet customer demand.
  • Coordinate production of external/internal materials needs.
  • Manage inventory levels and ordering of parts needed to prevent unplanned production downtime.
  • Develop process improvements to achieve company quality, inventory, and on-time KPIs.
  • Problem Solving and LPS activities for continuous improvement.
  • Update and communicate with sales team regularly.
  • Closely communicate with Internal/External Logistics, Production Operations, Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping to execute plans as scheduled.
  • Maintain part data integrity and set-up within the ERP system.
  • Take corrective actions to expedite customer requirements as required.
  • Monitor production capacity to report accurate lead-times.
  • Daily duties will include tracking work orders, monitoring priorities and delivery dates, reviewing production and shipment schedules, updating labor and machine build times, and completing status reports for production progress and work in process.
  • Enter and maintain accurate forecasting to drive requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • APICS certification considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in MS applications, MRP software, Oracle, and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, process improvement, and inventory management.
Work Environment

Normal or frequent moderate physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. Involves standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs.

Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of every day expected levels.
