Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Landscaping Supervisor to join our team at TIMES LANDSCAPING INC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our landscaping department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of landscape professionals, including hiring, training, and supervising staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement plans for the maintenance of our grounds, including mowing, pruning, and other tasks as needed.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Create detailed estimates for labour and materials required for various projects, ensuring that we stay within budget.
  • Plan, Manage, and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Oversee the construction of new landscapes, including planning, managing, and supervising the work of contractors and staff.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of all work completed, including hours worked, materials used, and any issues that may arise.
  • Read Blueprints and Drawings: Interpret blueprints and drawings to ensure that all construction projects are completed according to plan.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery, ensuring that they are in good working order.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Procure all necessary materials, equipment, and supplies for projects, ensuring that we have what we need when we need it.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice, and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Troubleshoot issues that arise during projects, provide technical guidance to staff, and recommend ways to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Supervise Nursery and Greenhouse Workers: Lead a team of nursery and greenhouse workers, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement schedules and procedures for staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Tight Deadlines: Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, ensuring that all projects are completed on time.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
Experience
  • 1 Year to Less Than 2 Years: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the landscaping industry.
