Job Overview

Bantrel Co. is on the lookout for a skilled Regional Planning Specialist to enhance our team. This role is primarily office-based, with essential site assessments. The Regional Planning Specialist will take charge of strategizing and coordinating various stages of engineering, procurement, and construction, particularly in the Energy, Mining, and Infrastructure sectors. This position also includes supervising junior and intermediate planners and offers the chance to contribute to significant projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with engineers, procurement experts, construction supervisors, and management during both the planning and execution phases of projects.
  • Collaborate with the Client Project Management team to provide effective planning and scheduling solutions.
  • Develop Resource-loaded Baseline Schedules and Schedule Basis documents that outline execution strategies and assumptions.
  • Continuously update and manage project schedules, ensuring alignment with progress and performance metrics.
  • Conduct independent analyses and devise solutions to address potential schedule delays.
  • Work alongside project controls teams, including cost analysts and estimators, to synchronize schedules with cost estimates and earned value progress systems.
  • Evaluate potential changes against project scope and execution plans, offering insights on schedule impacts.
  • Oversee junior and intermediate schedulers, particularly in relation to construction interfaces.
  • Support the management of transitions from construction to commissioning and from commissioning to operations.
  • Collaborate with the team on Integrated Level 4/Level 5 schedules from Construction to Pre-commissioning.
  • Manage schedule interactions between engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Engineering or Business, or a relevant qualification in Planning, Scheduling, Project Controls, or Project Management.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Planning and Scheduling.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in developing construction schedules.
  • Experience in cost control and monitoring.
  • Background in the Canadian oil, gas, petrochemicals, and mining & infrastructure sectors, preferably with Engineering or EPC Consultants.
  • Familiarity with CPM scheduling concepts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues effectively.
