Job Summary
The Supervisor, Dispatch Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily pick-up and delivery of freight, ensuring that all shipments are delivered on time and in good condition. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety and Compliance
- Lead and promote a culture of safety and compliance within the dispatch operations team.
- Ensure that all drivers and staff are aware of and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on safety and compliance metrics to management.
- Logistics and Operations
- Oversee the daily pick-up and delivery of freight, ensuring that all shipments are delivered on time and in good condition.
- Coordinate with drivers and staff to ensure that all shipments are properly loaded and unloaded.
- Monitor and report on logistics and operations metrics to management.
- Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor and report on customer satisfaction metrics to management.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of dispatch operations staff.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members.
- Monitor and report on team performance metrics to management.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in logistics or transportation operations.
- Proven leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
