Job Title: Regional Health Director, Western Canada

At HDR, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Health Director to lead our health sector team in Western Canada. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for guiding the overall direction of the health sector in the region and contributing to the growth and development of our health architecture practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health Sector Leadership: Work closely with global sector and local office leadership to ensure that the health sector is meeting business objectives from a local, regional, and national perspective.
  • Team Development: Grow a well-balanced, multi-disciplinary team, assess capabilities of staffing resources, and develop expertise in health design.
  • Client Relationships: Develop strong client relationships and serve as a key client relationship manager on projects.
  • Thought Leadership: Participate as a health thought leader in professional organizations, activities, and services throughout Western Canada.
  • Business Development: Execute pre-marketing and positioning strategies, organize pursuit efforts, and coordinate with global health and operational leadership.
  • Proposal Writing: Lead the development of written proposal responses and oversee the preparation of qualifications packages and proposals.
  • Interviews and Presentations: Lead the development of interview presentation strategies and messaging.
  • Global Teamwork: Work with HDR leaders, marketing staff, and design professionals to develop relationships and win work.
  • Project Delivery: Serve as a Principal in Charge (PIC) for key healthcare clients, responsible for establishing strong client relationships and overall project performance.
Requirements:
  • Registered Architect with the AIBC (or eligible for registration via reciprocity agreements between associations).
  • 15 years of professional experience in A/E/C industry, with at least two years of management experience.
  • Knowledge and experience within the local and regional health market.
  • Forward-thinking with big-picture mentality.
  • Experience successfully developing and executing targeted market and client strategies.
  • Capable of leading a health team and making client presentations.
  • Business development experience in health design industry.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to travel (domestic and international).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, planning, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
  • Maintain professional registration.
  • Experienced in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services.
  • Experienced in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits.
  • Experienced in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path, and professional growth.
  • Experienced with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with Area Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Director, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers, and Area Managers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to HDR values.
