About the Role

AIG is seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Analyst to join our Canadian Reserving team. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting actuarial reserving and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with analysis of reserving segments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze data and other information to determine loss and expense reserve adequacy using actuarial techniques.
  • Oversee and prepare reserve study documentation, including financial statements.
  • Evaluate the appropriate IBNR to be booked each quarter and prepare Sarbanes Oxley documentation.
  • Conduct research, experience studies, and other complex actuarial analysis to optimize processes and meet business needs.
  • Assist in the production of local Canadian and Schedule P reports and exhibits for GAAP and Statutory financials.
  • Collaborate with IT systems personnel to design new reports and data requirements, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with pricing actuaries, underwriters, finance, claims, compliance, and legal departments.
  • Work independently with limited supervision to complete projects and assignments.
Requirements
  • BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Successful completion of 3 or more actuarial exams.
  • Minimum 3 years of actuarial experience in property casualty insurance, with reserving experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, technical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative on projects and assignments, seeking alternative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong business acumen.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, VBA, or other related skills.
