Job Summary:

The Quality Control Chemist will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products by performing various laboratory tests and analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct instrumental analyses using techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, and NMR to ensure product quality.
  • Perform bench chemical techniques such as TLC, titrimetry, and gravimetry to analyze product composition.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of laboratory activities, including test results and instrument maintenance.
  • Perform calculations and data analysis using spreadsheets or validated computer systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments and document these activities.
  • Prepare and complete paperwork for the release of materials, including status labels and certificates of analysis.
  • Ensure proper tracking and logging of samples.
  • Identify test results that are out of specification and notify a manager or supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor based on business needs.

Requirements:

  • Diploma from a recognized Chemical Technology program.
  • Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis on Chemistry preferred.
  • Technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation such as GC, HPLC, UV-VIS preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMP guidelines an asset.
