Church Custodian

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Church Custodian to join our team at Guru Nanak Niwas Society. As a Church Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our community.

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse.
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers to prevent odors and pests.
• Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
• Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment to ensure a safe and functional environment.
• Perform safety and security checks to identify potential hazards and take corrective action.
• Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to maintain a beautiful and welcoming outdoor space.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safe access to the facilities.

• Will train to ensure you have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the job requirements.
• Support for newcomers and refugees to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster to provide support and assistance.
• Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
• Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination to ensure a fair and inclusive hiring process.
