Job Summary
The Labour Relations Advisor will play a key role in maintaining harmonious working relationships between employees, managers, and union representatives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and support to first-level managers and the human resources team on labour relations matters.
- Negotiate collective agreements, letters of understanding, and other negotiated agreements.
- Interpret and apply collective agreements, employment terminations, disciplinary measures, and other labour-related policies.
- Update and maintain absenteeism files.
- Conduct legislative research and provide recommendations.
- Participate in and lead labour relations committees.
- Facilitate grievance meetings and provide support to managers.
- Represent the employer in administrative tribunals and other labour-related forums.
- Prepare various files, including grievances, disciplinary meetings, arbitrations, and collective agreement negotiations.
Requirements
Education:
- University diploma in Labour Relations or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience as a Labour Relations Advisor or similar title.
Skills:
- Bilingualism (French and English) is essential.
- Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code is an asset.
- Leadership, proactive, client-oriented, and strong communication skills.
- Team spirit and creative problem-solving abilities.
