Job Summary

The Instructional Design Specialist is a key role at Pet Valu, responsible for creating engaging and effective learning experiences that support the company's training needs. This position requires a strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and e-learning development tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop interactive blended learning programs, multimedia, and other training materials that align with business objectives and training requirements.
  • Collaborate with learning managers and teams to identify training needs, confirm course specifications, and resolve gaps.
  • Ensure accessibility compliance and course consistency with brand standards.
  • Support cross-functional teams to create engaging blended learning experiences for all learners.
  • Manage competing priorities and deliver projects in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Update job aids, facilitator guides, classroom slides, participant guides, and on-the-job training materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
  • Strong knowledge of ADDIE methodology and e-learning development software.
  • Experience designing and editing with graphic media tools, video, audio, animation, and simulations.
  • Strong knowledge of current trends in training and adult learning.
  • CTDP or equivalent is an asset.
